You will remain fully awake and responsive. Once your procedure is complete and we remove the mask, the effects of the gas will wear off right away. You'll be able to drive yourself home safely after treatment.
Oral Sedation
Oral sedation involves taking a pill about an hour before your dental procedure to allow you to relax. This form of conscious sedation is ideal if you experience dental anxiety. You'll feel drowsy and relaxed, but you'll be awake and responsive to directions throughout your treatment. The best part is that you won't remember much about the procedure. The effects of the sedative will linger until the next day, so make plans to have a trusted adult drive you home after treatment.
